Summary of Functions

Reporting to the Senior Coordinator, Conservation Parks, a Visitor ServicesCrew Member for Conservation Parks works out of the gatehouse at Island Lake Conservation Area. Visitor ServicesCrew Members are an integral part of the Conservation Parks team to provide excellent customer service and administrative functions in the delivery of conservation area operations, programming and special events.

Eligibility Requirements

• Ability to easily engage with the public.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work during non-daylight hours.
• Available to work most weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new skills.

Summary of Major Tasks

• Providing visitors with detailed information about Conservation Areas and surrounding areas from a recreational and educational perspective.
• Operating a point-of-sale system including online and in-person sales, reservations, and payments.
• Safe operation and inspection of office equipment at the park gatehouse.
• Answer a high volume of calls and emails to reserve facilities and equipment, answer inquiries, and provide guidance for visitors.
• Correspond with staff and visitors via email, phone, text, or internal communication system.
• Collecting accurate data, including customer information and postal codes.
• Maintenance and cleaning of workspace and staff washroom.
