CUSTODIAN - MUSEUMS (TEMPORARY PART-TIME, MINIMUM FOUR MONTHS)

Our Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for the part-time temporary position of Custodian - Museums. Reporting to the Supervisor of Recreation and Community Facilities, the Custodian - Museums is responsible for performing a variety of custodial duties of a daily routine nature in support of the maintenance of The County's Museums, such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning glass cases, waxing, vacuuming, and washing windows, using appropriate care and precautions so as not to mar or otherwise cause deterioration of the historical facilities, heritage furniture or artifacts.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

· Completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent.

· Related experience in cleaning methods, solutions, equipment, and procedures used in the care and safety of artifacts, heritage furniture and buildings.

· Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills with the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgement at all times.

· Ability to work effectively in the absence of direct supervision.

· Current WHMIS, and CPR/First Aid certification or ability to successfully complete.

· Ability and willingness to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends. Some exposure to outdoor weather may be required with outdoor tasks.

· Valid Class 'G' Ontario driver’s license with the use of a safe, reliable vehicle.

· Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening Background check.

The current rate of pay for this position is $21.30 per hour, plus 10% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation as per Band 1 of CUPE Local 2275’s Collective Agreement. Please submit your application prior to 4:00pm on January 5, 2024, to careers@pecounty.on.ca.
