Customer Service Representative

Hendriks Greenhouses is looking for a customer focused, self starter to be the newest member of our dynamic Customer Services/Sales team!

*Please note that this position is a maternity leave coverage contract*

The Customer Service/Sales Support person will interact with our wholesale customers to provide information in response to inquires about products and services. They will work cooperatively with production and members of the distribution team to grow existing customers, create new customers and meet or exceed monthly sales targets while increasing customer satisfaction.

Job duties include:

• Accurately processing customer transactions into the ERP system such as orders, pre-orders or quotes
• Generate invoices for customer orders and adhere to CFIA requirements for US paperwork
• Generate new and repeat sales by providing product information in a timely manner
• Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions
• Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications and in-stock items
• Process and manage pre-books. Obtain accurate information from purchasing relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery
• Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items
• Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed
• Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaint
• Fill requests for catalogs, information or samples
• Remain current on consumer preferences, product developments by attending sales meetings, vendor training and trade shows, or reading trade journals
• Maintain accurate and up to date customer files
• Printing UPC's and labels and providing back-up to other Customer Service staff

Requirements:

• Proven organizational and planning skills
• Strong computer skills, specifically in Excel and data entry
• Ability to work under minimum supervision
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Salary: From $21.00 per hour

Experience:

• Customer Service: 2 years (preferred)
