Who are we looking for?
Clip 'n Climb Edmonton is currently seeking a mature candidate who is able to demonstrate a high level of work ethic and initiative. If you're a Post-Secondary student looking for a solid and reliable part-time job while you complete your studies, we want to hear from you! Customer service skills are advantageous and experience working with children is desirable. Previous climbing experience is an asset but not necessary, although you **MUST** be comfortable climbing at heights! We are looking for staff who are passionate about an active lifestyle, and have a naturally outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. The Clip 'n Climb concept provides a fun and dynamic environment, we're looking for those who will complement this environment!
Duties include:
- Performing safety briefings and demonstrations for participants
- Actively supervising participants on the climbing walls
- Cleaning the climbing walls (up to 28 feet high)
- Cleaning and maintaining all common areas (climbing arena, seating area)
- Provide positive guest relations (directions, instruction and interaction with guests) while in the climbing arena
- Other duties within the facility as required and delegated by supervisors, including but not limited to, resetting harnesses for the next session, operation of the Vertical Drop Slide.
Essential criteria:
- PREFERENCE will be given to candidates who have OPEN availability on weekends AND weekday afternoons/evenings. Hours will also include long weekends/Stat Holidays
- A team player who demonstrates scheduling flexibility, is adaptable to tasks, and shows strong initiative
- Punctual and reliable
- An excellent communicator with people of all ages and culture
- Confident at public speaking
- Able to remain calm under pressure in a busy environment
- Looks to multi-task and multi-skill across all areas within the facility
- Be physically fit and able to work at heights
- Current First Aid certification desirable
- Positive & fun attitude/personality
This is a part-time position (approx 15-25 hours per week) involving WEEKEND hours (Saturdays & Sundays) and weekday afternoons/evenings. Extra hours will be available during school breaks, Stat Holidays, as well as for the Summer. We are looking for someone who has OPEN availability and is ready to work.
