Regional Connections is accepting applications for the DAWCC Program Coordinator.
Background: A Local Immigration Partnership exists to connect local stakeholders with local newcomer perspectives to identify gaps and barriers to newcomer settlement and integration and to increase local capacity to build welcoming communities together. Regional Connections Inc is the funding agreement holder for the Dauphin & region Local Immigration Partnership, DAWCC.
Job Purpose: The DAWCC Program Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the ongoing delivery of
DAWCC. Duties focus on outreach, engagement, networking, communications, and partnership building among newcomer communities, service providers, and stakeholders. The Coordinator supports and coordinates the ongoing Regional Partnership Council, the Immigrant Advisory Table, and ad-hoc working groups to support project activities. The successful candidate will continue to build community networks, increase project engagement, and monitor results to assure the achievement of funded deliverables that contribute to the overall outcome of building welcoming communities. The successful applicant will work directly under the supervision of the Regional Connections Executive Director.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain the Regional Partnership Council, comprised of representatives from community organizations and municipalities;
- Support and maintain the Immigrant Advisory Table;
- Ensure the DAWCC project meets funding expectations for deliverables and outcomes in alignment with its established strategic plan;
- Liaise with community organizations in the Dauphin region to share information and work towards coordinated services;
- Organize and facilitate meetings of partners and stakeholders in support of project deliverables;
- Support community-level research and strategic planning;
- Conduct an annual survey on newcomers’ needs and the community’s assets and gaps;
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated excellence in partnership building, outreach, and engagement;
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills;
- Keen understanding of immigration, settlement, and cultural diversity;
- Ability to work with volunteers and representatives of the public and private sectors;
- Proven record of working with multiple stakeholders in a collaborative setting;
- Excellent organizational and project management skills;
- Ability to chair meetings and facilitate groups;
- A valid driver’s licence and reliable personal vehicle – ability to travel within the Dauphin region in support of project activities
- Other Details:
- Regional Connections’ compensation package includes health and benefits, RRSP matching, 4 annual wellness days, 10 paid sick days, and paid time off at Christmas in addition to employee vacation
- Projected start date March 11th, 2024 with some flexibility to negotiate
- Weekly working hours are negotiable for the right candidate, 25-35 hrs per week
