Description
This position is geared toward youth interested in gaining invaluable experience in the field of arts literacy education. This position will be responsible for all of the components of a day-to-day summer art camp at the Estevan Art Gallery & Museum (EAGM) which will include the coordination, delivery, and administration of weekly art camps. Key responsibilities associated with this position are:
- Work with EAGM staff to attain camp materials (pre-camp)
- Read and follow policies and procedures (pre-camp)
- Complete all paperwork necessary for registration (pre-camp)
- Communicate any concerns or issues directly to the Director/Curator or Education, Outreach and Programming Coordinator.
- To ensure that punctual and professional standards are maintained in the classroom
- Maintain daily attendance records
- Review medical/special needs forms provided by parents
- Ensure an inclusive experience by providing extra guidance or additional materials, pending clients' needs
- Supervision of camp attendees
- Provide instruction and guidance to camp attendees
- Managing disruptive behaviour
- Handling disciplinary problems as provided through policies and procedures manual
- Notify staff of any issues arising from camp and communications of needs as they arise
- Ensure the safety of all students
- Creating a fun and inclusive atmosphere
- Promoting teamwork and a positive work environment
- Organizing and cleaning of art camp space
