Job Title: General Labourer
This position offers the candidate with the potential to grow into a more specified position within the company.
Main Role of the Job:
To assist with general tasks in any and all areas of the company as needed. This may include the cutting (waterjet, laser) department, fabrication department and/or powder coating department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow safety protocol
- Assist in all areas as needed
- Prepare raw materials for production
- Use and read measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, etc.)
- Load and offload parts
- Perform visual inspections
- Count and label product accurately
- Package and prep orders for delivery
- Utilize power tools/hand tools
- Maintain a clean work area daily
- Any and all other duties assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, or equivalent (Required)
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools and measuring devices (Required)
- Knowledge of reading and measuring tape measure and caliper (Required)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Strong communication skills
Working Conditions:
- Lifting, twisting, bending, etc.
- Repetitive movements
- Moderate sound levels
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift minimum 40 lbs without assistance
- Able to stand for long periods of time
Required Standard PPE:
- Safety Shoes (CSA Approved)
- Safety Glasses
- Ear Plugs
- Gloves
- Face shield (when grinding, sanding)
