What is the opportunity?

Our goal is to make every RBC Bank customer and advisor touchpoint consistently outstanding. Whether through web, native app, or IVR, the Business AnalystUnsecured Lending is responsible for analysis planning, deep dive requirements gathering, and writing user stories that champion the needs of the business.  We’re looking for someone who obsesses about the digital experience and instinctively knows that “good enough” is not good enough.  It’s a task that’ll be made easier by collaborating with a top-notch team of product managers, product owners, UI/UX experts, strategists, marketers, writers, and developers following a shared vision. What will you do?

  • Serve as customer-proxy on the development team, responsible for creating initial Epics and user stories that clearly describe the functional and non-functional requirements
  • Responsible for analyzing and documenting functional system requirements to accompany user stories
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with SMEs from the functional units using standard techniques such one-on-one or group interviews
  • Partner with designers and developers on the UI and UX design of new features, including process and screen flow diagrams, as well as wire framing
  • Responsible for maintenance and production support of all features developed, including incident management and defect triage/prioritization
  • Lead demo's for stakeholders
  • Partner with operational groups during the deployment planning for new systems, including prep for training, communication, marketing, production validation, and benefits realization
  • Create acceptance criteria for all users stories
  • Develop other business analysis artifacts such as business rules or process flows to clarify requirements
  • Attend all Agile ceremonies, including Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Grooming and Retrospectives
  • Confirm development and QA sprint team members have a clear understanding of the business vision and need during sprint ceremonies
  • Proxy for business by answering business questions and resolving related issues
  • Demo completed code to business customers to confirm business need was satisfied
  • Create and review documentation required for production release and support

What you'll bring:

  • A breadth and depth of knowledge and experience one (or more) of the essential digital channels – online account opening, mobile banking, online banking and IVR
  • A passion for exceptional customer experiences
  • Experience with COTS (commercial off the shelf), new development, and enhancements/support
  • High level of intellectual curiosity to understand current state, identify issues and provide solutions, while advising on potential positive and negative implications of decisions
  • A champion for the business (we will provide the cape)

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in an Information Technology type role
  • 3+ years’ experience in a business analysis type role with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies and working collaboratively with a scrum team
  • In-depth knowledge of credit decisioning, systems integration, online account opening, mobile banking, online banking, or IVR
  • Exceptional business analysis skills
  • Strong understanding of the business and stakeholder needs
  • Proven experience in translating strategy into tactical execution
  • Experience developing “To–Be” processes, documenting identified policy and procedure gaps and a plan to implement the future state
  • Experience in establishing and scaling the War Room approach for all in-scope Journeys
  • Expert communication skills, able to indirectly influence others, and collaborates in insightful problem solving
  • Demonstrated performance working with multiple vendors to launch new product

Nice-to-have:

  • Agile certification
  • HFI certification or equivalent
  • Mad customer journey mapping skills
