What is the opportunity?
As the Director of Consultant Relations, you will work closely with the Head of Client Solutions in developing strategic and tactical plans via consultant channels across assigned global and regional firms.
This position will be based in our Chicago office working alongside a highly collaborative and accountable team.
What will you do?
- Install a servicing plan that successfully balances the needs of each consulting firm and the priorities and objectives of the broader RBC US distribution vision and strategy,
- Develop a deep understanding of the individual needs of research and field consultant contacts to identify opportunities to monetize existing traction, build support for RBC strategies and defend strategies in need.
- Closely collaborate with other members of US, UK and Canada based Consultant Relations teams to execute plans with assigned consulting firms.
- Maintain CRM tools (currently SalesForce) to ensure the effective implementation of regional and global Consultant Relationships and servicing processes.
- Proactively engage members of US sales and client servicing channels to build healthy, collaborative working relationships that result in efficient and effective coverage of our shared clients with consulting firms and the pursuit of new opportunities for the firm.
- Personally reinforce excellence across RBC’s stated cultural values and standards both inside the firm and as a representative of RBC in the market.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field with 10+ years of relevant work experience
- 5+ years working at/with investment consulting firms
- Extensive experience of investment consultant channel
- History of calling on all facets of global and regional consulting firms and creating strategies to protect existing business, introduce and gain support for investment product set, and monetize support to help achieve new business goals
- Familiarity with fixed income and equity markets and related strategies
Nice-to-have
- Experience with hedge funds and drawdown vehicles in the private markets
- CFA and/or CAIA designations
- MBA or in pursuit of
