We have a rare opportunity for a Director - Finance to join our team in either our Saint John, NB or Halifax, NS locations. Reporting to the President of Acadia Broadcasting Corporation, the Director-Finance is a member of the Executive team and partners with the President to analyze and identify activities that have the highest return on capital to grow the value of the business. They are responsible for overseeing the financial planning and financial operations of the Company, the day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and reconciliations of the accounting team.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the annual financial cycles (under direction of President) to maximize the long-term profitability of the organization.
- Collaborating with the President and executive team in building the company's strategic plan and sharing a compelling long-term vision that focuses on value creation for the business.
- Steer the company's financial planning and reporting, including operating and capital budgets, forecasts, monthly financial statements, project profitability, and year end statements.
- Manage a team of accounting practitioners while encouraging their development and ongoing growth.
- Review financial results and regular financial reporting prepared by the Senior Accountant, and Coach and develop them to grow their capability.
- Leading optimal team performance by creating a culture of coaching through consistent feedback and mentoring, broaden thinking, clarify milestones or measures of success and maintaining accountability for achieving goals and objectives.
- Overseeing the company's compliance in the areas of GST/HST, payroll, and corporate income tax installments and reporting.
- Strive for operational excellence and efficiency through the introduction of new systems and process improvement initiatives.
- Support and engage with audit processes - internal and external.
- Manage and oversee complex regulatory compliance requirements
Required education, experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Undergraduate or Postgraduate Degree in a related field.
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, post CPA designation.
- Experience leading financial and/or accounting departments.
- Experience with mid-market to top tier ERP system.
- Effective communicator.
- Creative thinker and problem solver.
- Meticulous attention to details

The position will require the right blend of education and experience. Although industry experience is not required, it would certainly be considered an asset. Limited travel based on operational requirements.
