About the branch:

Finance, Systems and Administration is a corporate branch within the department that provides senior management with direction, guidance and support services in the management and operation of financial and information Systems and related administrative processes to ensure that resources are utilized effectively and efficiently in a coordinated manner.

About the job:

Working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the Director of Finance, Systems, and Administration is a key member of the Senior Management Team reporting directly to the Deputy Minister and provides advice, and support to the Department of Community Services. The Director is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of strategies, goals, and objectives, toward the effective delivery of financial management, information management, and systems support and development. The Director also serves as the Department of Community Services' liaison to the Department of Finance, including the Management Board Secretariat, and external agencies such as the Auditor General.

The ideal candidate will have strong client service orientation, with a flexible, proactive approach to working with staff, colleagues, and clients; will resolve issues and problems with integrity and balanced judgement; and will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Additional Information:

Essential Qualifications:

• Chartered Professional Accounting designation is desired but not mandatory; masters degree in business, leadership, finance or equivalent (please specify the equivalency)

• Significant experience in a senior financial, facilities, or information management role in a large complex organization

• Public Sector Accounting Board / public sector finance experience would be an asset

• Experience as steward of large capital and operating budgets

• Senior level leadership experience, demonstrated ability in developing, leading, and managing employees

• Experience developing and implementing programs, policies, and procedures; and

• Significant experience in an information management role in a large complex organization may be an asset.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the above qualifications may be equally considered.
