ROLE PURPOSE
The Director of Service Implementation oversees the successful implementation of new programs in support of Connective’s strategic goals. This role applies project management expertise, strong leadership skills, and strategic perspective to drive projects forward in a fast-paced, dynamic, and values-driven environment, supporting growth and the sustainability of quality services in all Connective regions.
HOURS
Monday to Friday, 0830-1630, 40 hours per week
This position requires the ability to work flexible hours based on operational needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
As a Director of Service Implementation, your responsibilities will include:
Service Implementation Oversight
  • Provides strategic leadership and oversight to the Implementation Team, ensuring project management support is provided to program teams in the development of new services.
  • Monitors the pipeline of prospective opportunities tracked by the Service Development team and continuously update plans for implementation as new information emerges.
  • Analyzes risk across Connective’s portfolio of new service projects on an ongoing basis and brings forward tangible actions and recommendations in response.
  • Advises on implementation timelines, budgets and risks for proposals and negotiations.
  • Reports to Strategic Leadership Team and other bodies, as required, on the progress of projects.
  • Conducts ongoing research and learning into resources and best practices related to project management in the social service, non-profit environment, for application at Connective and in our consulting work with partners.
  • Establishes and owns best practices for the implementation of new services at Connective, building on the organization’s lessons learned, industry standards, and the principle of continuous improvement.
  • Leads the development and improvement of common tools, processes, and systems for project implementation.
  • Consults across departments to assess capacity, impacts and options for implementation approaches as the organization continues to grow and adapt.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external interested and affected parties, including representatives of various funders, partner agencies and service users.
Service Implementation
  • Leads implementation of complex projects while fulfilling other department responsibilities and coaching team members who are leading other projects.
  • Coordinates with all Connective departments to ensure the achievement of standards and the successful integration of all systems and processes in new program setup.
  • Works closely with Program Directors and Senior Managers to support the development of budgets, timelines and agreements with funders as required.
  • Assesses project success and works across departments and programs to apply learnings.
  • Develops plans to mitigate potential issues and resolves project issues as they come up.
Department Operations
  • Build and execute own department business plans.
  • Drive internal improvements for processes and programs.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENRS
We seek candidates who meet the following qualifications and requirements:
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or a combination of applicable education, training, and experience
  • A Project Management designation, PMP or equivalent
  • Seven-ten years of demonstrable project management experience within non-profit or government sector
  • Ability to manage, motivate and coordinate a staff team
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, conflict management and resolution strategies, as well as a positive work approach
  • Well-developed leadership skills with the capacity to reflect, promote, and protect the culture and integrity of the organization and the services it provides, and to manage situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent time and project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner (written and verbal)
  • Sensitivity to the political and cultural environment of interjurisdictional public agencies or similarly complex environment
  • Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check
  • Ability to successfully pass a reference check
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination
  • Code of Ethics and Oath of Confidentiality
COMPENSATION
Annual Salary will start at $103,500 up to $126,500 based on experience and qualifications. This role will also be eligible for the Society’s comprehensive Management Benefits Package.
Important: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada, observe their weekly hours limit if under a temporary or study visa, and provide proof of eligibility if selected for the role.
