McLeod Realty & Management Ltd. is seeking a full time Maintenance Technician at 100 unit townhouse complex in Wainwright Alberta.
In this position, you will be a Maintenance Technician responsible for the repair and upkeep of the townhomes and grounds in the complex.
General job duties:
- Reviews assigned work orders, estimate time and materials needed to complete repair and order necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks
- Perform small repairs such as painting, tightening taps, unplugging toilets, etc.
- Perform larger repairs and carpentry such as replacing doors, laying laminate floors, replacing baseboards, fixing cabinets, replacing plumbing fixtures and lights, building decks, major drywall repair and painting
- Complete maintenance and repair records as required
- Ensure the complex is clean & well maintained including lawn/yard maintenance, snow clearing and regular mechanical inspections and maintenance
- Responding to emergencies such as sewer backups, floods, etc.
- Work with the Property Manager to coordinate with trades such as plumbers and electricians when required
- Assist the Property Manager to organize keys and security access
- Respond to all inquiries and questions from tenants in professional and helpful manner
- Create Notices to Enter in Microsoft Word and post notice when required
- Ensure the complex is secure and deal with security issues if they arise
The hours worked per week will be 40 hours per week. The successful candidate must be available for occasional emergencies after hours and on weekends.
You Have:
- A valid driver's license
- At least 4 years’ experience in building maintenance or contracting
- Strong mechanical, carpentry and general contracting/handyman skills to perform high quality repairs
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain good relationships with tenants
- Ability to understand and follow process and instructions from the Property Manager
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good computer skills including all aspects of Microsoft Office and the ability to work with apps on a smart phone
- General knowledge of building mechanical systems and the ability to perform routine inspections
- Willingness and availability to respond to occasional building emergencies after hours and on weekends
