What is the opportunity?
As the Director IT Asset Management Data Governance involves overseeing the lifecycle of IT assets within an organization while ensuring compliance with Data Governance policies and procedures. Responsibilities include developing and implementing Data Governance frameworks specific to IT assets, ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the asset lifecycle, collaborating with stakeholders to establish Asset Management best practices, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to data and IT assets.
What will you do?
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development: Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategy for IT Asset Management Data Governance aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Governance Framework: Design and implement a robust governance framework to ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all IT Asset Management processes.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of IT Asset Management and Data Governance professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
Technology Evaluation and Adoption: Evaluate emerging technologies and tools for IT Asset Management and Data Governance, recommending and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Reporting and Analytics: Establish and maintain robust reporting mechanisms to provide visibility into asset utilization, costs, and compliance. Use data analytics to make informed decisions and identify areas for improvement.
Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with key stakeholders, including senior management and department heads, to provide insights and updates on IT Asset Management initiatives, build strong relationships with functional units to understand their asset needs.
Communication and Reporting: Communicate regularly with senior leadership and other stakeholders, providing updates on IT Asset Management Data Governance initiatives, progress, and challenges. Overall, your mandate would be to drive excellence in IT Asset Management through effective Data Governance practices, enabling the organization to maximize the value of its IT investments while mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Bachelor's degree in information technology, business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
8+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of IT Asset Management best practices, software licensing, and compliance.
Proficiency in IT Asset Management software and tools.
Strong understanding of IT procurement processes and vendor management.
Nice-to-have
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Certifications such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) are a plus.
