Must Haves

• Graduate of a recognized school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or degree in Health Care Administration
• Current RN registration in good standing with BCCNM
• Coursework in Leadership and Management
• Two years of nursing experience in gerontology
• Five years of health care management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

About The Role

• Coordinate, supervise, and develop clinical programs.
• Ensure programs meet residents' physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs.
• Provide leadership in the planning, development, and evaluation of departmental goals.
• Contribute to strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in accreditation processes.
• Participate in the selection, hiring, and orientation processes.
• Supervise, manage, and appraise the performance of team members.
• Support long-term care coordinators in performance management.
• Develop the team through feedback, leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
• Monitor attendance, approve leaves, and manage payroll.
• Provide monthly reports to the long-term care administrator.
• Foster positive partnerships with key partners and organizations.
• Interact with Vancouver Coastal Health on resident care and policy development.
• Maintain awareness of healthcare trends and participate in committees.
• Collaborate in preparing the department budget and overseeing expenditures.
• Take responsibility for personal and professional development.
• Attend workshops and training sessions for skill development.
• Maintain competencies for licensure.
• Establish and support a health and safety culture.
• Demonstrate and encourage safe working practices.
• Identify hazards, ensure training, and enforce compliance with safety regulations.
• Participate in safety meetings, investigations, and resolution of identified hazards.

Your Work Location

Victoria ranks among the top twenty world cities for quality of life. Our long term care community, The Heights at Mt. View, is a 7-story, 260-suite residence in Saanich's neighbourhood.

What You Receive

We offer a competitive compensation package, featuring an annual salary range of $113,000 to $120,000. Your comprehensive benefits include employer-paid extended health and dental coverage, along with a generous 20 days of vacation. Additionally, we provide RRSP matching contribution and support for your ongoing professional development.
