McClay's Transportation Ltd. is seeking a Director of Finance to join our team in our Ingersoll office. The Director of Finance manages all aspects of the accounting and financial functions for a group of companies. This individual will play a strategic role in the management of the business. Our ideal candidate will be able to work in person at the office on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of all day-to-day accounting including AP/AR, payroll, cash flow management, General Ledger maintenance and control of assets
- Month-end reconciliations and close procedures to prepare accurate monthly financial reporting on a timely basis
- Maintain account policies and procedures and a system of internal controls
- Work with management and accounting team to ensure customers are billed accurately and on a timely basis and that receivables are monitored and collected on a timely basis
- Assist in software setup and updates
- Work with external accounting firms to meet all required deadlines and comply with local, provincial and federal government reporting and tax filings
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with leadership team and staff
- Preparation and review of year-end working papers for the external accountants and tax advisors
- Support interactions with key relationships, including advisors, clients, vendors and bankers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting/Finance
- CPA designation
- 3-5 years in an accounting oversight position
- Transportation industry experience is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with an ability to prioritize important tasks
- Deadline-oriented with a strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounting would be an asset
- Working knowledge of payroll processes
- Must be proficient in Office 365 with strong knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Required to work in person at the office full-time, not remotely
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $100,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
