What is the Opportunity?
As part of the Shopping Experience Team, the Director, Shopping Delivery Lead will direct the Agile framework for Shopping Experience product, and contribute to the product vision, delivery strategy and overall roadmap prioritization and execution of the products being developed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the successful scaling of Shopping product development and service distribution through the digital channels of RBC, across multiple lines of businesses, while also identifying emerging opportunities.
What will you do?
- Provides leadership and support with Agile best practices and tooling to product teams and acts as the point of escalation for Shopping Product delivery roadblocks
- Acts as a subject matter expert and strategy owner for their domain and is the voice of the agile excellence to the product teams
- Works closely with Product leadership to integrate product vision and strategy and maintains product roadmaps and other product development lifecycle artifacts
- Responsible for setting the ceremonies and cadences to support the Product teams define market problems and design user personas
- Defines framework for documenting and maintaining feature sets and ensures product continuity through good product documentation and hygiene
- Makes recommendations on release schedule across Shopping Product teams as well as the agile release trains of multiple other digital product teams and channels across RBC
- Works closely with the delivery team to plan the feature calendar, both for Shopping Products as well as the release of those features and functionality into other release trains for channels across RBC
- Monitors performance to identify trends and recommends initiatives to leverage opportunities
- Designated expert with the business, works with external stakeholders and represents product delivery progress with senior leaders and executives
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have:
- 5-10 years progressive leadership experience with Agile (SAFe and Scrum preferred, with a lean to SAFe) product delivery
- Experience working with teams who deliver digital products for financial institutions or Fintechs
- Reside within the Greater Toronto Area and able to be on-site with product teams and other agile release teams at RBC
- Very skilled communicator, verbally and in written form
- Experience in a heavily matrixed organization
- Extensive use of Jira and Confluence as a product development lifecycle tools
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience transitioning from Waterfall to Agile delivery methods
- Experience working with outside parties as a part of the solution build and development
- Rolling out SAFe agile strategies across multiple release trains and multiple user apps
- Agile release train management experience
