Job Summary
DHC is looking to hire Electrical Apprentices who are interested in data and security infrastructure installations. Your experience and skills are very transferable and applicable to our field of work and a career with us will provide you with experience in an advanced technological career DHC offers competitive wages and benefits comparable to other trades. Work hours with us are applicable to your ITA ticket. Our scope of work covers all phases of construction from Designing, rough-in, installation/termination, testing and commissioning.
Experience and Responsibilities will include:
- Roughing in and building pathways.
- Install, test and troubleshoot communication cabling systems including copper and fiber optics
- Mechanical and fusion fiber optic splicing.
- Running, pulling, terminating and splicing copper and fiber optic cables (CAT5, CAT6, coax, low voltage cables, telco, singlemode, multimode).
- Work with specifications, drawings and plans
- Work with a variety of trades on site.
- Operate overhead lift equipment including boom lifts, scissor lifts and bucket trucks
- Install and maintain outdoor communications systems including line/pole installations
- Retrofit existing buildings to newer fiber technology
- Installation and service of intrusion alarms, access control and CCTV systems such as BOSCH, Avigilon and DSC.
- Installation and commission of Fire Alarm systems such as Siemens.
- Building data and network racks
- Building Data and Server rooms.
- Document network by labelling cables, and recording as built diagrams and specifications. This includes Fluke testing of installations.
- Assist with other telecommunications including but not limited to, PBX installations, Video Conferencing, SIP, Hosted, Point to Point and wifi.
- Mount telecommunication equipment, routers, switches etc. all while following industry standards, best practices and manufacturer requirements.
- Install or maintain existing fire stopping in conduits, trays, wall/ceiling/floor penetrations
Job Requirements: Technical Qualifications
- Electrical Apprenticeship levels of 1 to 4.
- Fall arrest
- confined spaces,
- ladder safety
- Working with bucket trucks an asset
Wages: Comparative based on your level of apprenticeship.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $18.00-$30.00 per hour
