Electrical Service Technician

We are currently looking for a hardworking, charismatic individual to join our team as an Electrical Service Technicianat our Belleville, Ontario location.

The Electrical Service Technician will travel to customer locations, remotely access equipment, and perform routine maintenance on electrical equipment. The Service Technician will be working with Hetronic radio remotes regularly. Their main duties will be to install, repair, and test this high-quality equipment as well as providing instruction to customers.

Shift: Monday to Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and test Hetronic radio remotes, controls and other electrical equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and evaluate available information.
• Diagnose electrical systems with multi-meter, oscilloscope, and other electrical/RF diagnostic tools.
• Make wiring harnesses.
• Create soldered connections, assemble, and disassemble multipin connectors,
• Fix defective or broken equipment and order or replace faulty or worn-out parts.
• Proficient operation of hand tools, small power tools, hand crimpers, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, and understands their use and function.
• Reading and understanding technical documentation such as electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, bills-of-material, setup instructions, written work instructions. Must have working knowledge of industrial/mobile wiring schematics.
• Performs required repairs and required modifications to restore unit to proper operation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree with a training emphasis in communication/computer electronics, or five or more years of technical on-the-job experience/military technical training, and a general radio frequency (RF) background would be considered an asset.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Possesses strong problem-solving skills applied to digital and analog electronics with the ability to troubleshoot in a logical manner.
• Professional, clear verbal and written communications.
• Plans workload in conjunction with Manager/Supervisor with flexibility to adjust according to customer requirements.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Works with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems would be considered an asset.
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation such as electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, mechanical drawings, bills-of-material, setup instructions, written work instructions.
• Solid communication skills, above average written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with programmable industrial controllers/logic gates would be considered an asset.
• Computer programming would be considered an asset.
• Ability to work with small components.
• Drafting considered an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outside in all seasons/weather.
• Ability to work on a ladder (up to 10ft).
• Able to work on a team but be self-motivated and independent at times.
