JOB SUMMARY
Working under the direction and supervision of the Team Lead, Electrical Systems, AGLC requires an experienced journeyperson Electrician to provide operational and service support for AGLC owned and leased facilities throughout the province.
This position provides maintenance services in collaboration with and supporting other trade and non-trade facility service needs of the AGLC. The role entails the performance of tasks related to electrical maintenance, preventative maintenance, installation, repair, replacement, and enhancements, for electrical distribution systems, electrical motors, life safety systems, security systems, BMCS, UPS, generators, and related emergency power system components. All duties performed shall be fulfilled in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, codes, standards, trade customs, and in alignment with the AGLC’s policies and procedures.
The successful individual must be customer service orientated, safety focused, a team player, and must be able to work productively and effectively in a customer service-based posture, with contractors, colleagues, and clients. A demonstrated ability to function in a customer service capacity, while adapting to and accommodating change in a positive manner is essential. The role requires an individual capable of fostering a positive workplace culture that supports respect, collaboration, communication, collegiality, and high performance. To be successful you will be self-motivated, service oriented, able to work in high and confined areas, and willing to perform tasks as assigned. You have the ability to work well with other trades, contractors, support/administrative staff, and clientele.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Journeyperson Electrician certification is required.
- 5 years related service experience at the Journeyman level is required.
- Grade 12 Diploma is required.
- Class 5 driver’s license is required.
- Physically able to perform manual duties found in the position assignment is required.
- Master Electrician Certification is an asset.
- Red Seal certification is an asset.
