Electronics Technician Audio Visual
ATP Systems Audio Video Inc. is looking for an experienced full-time Electronics Technician with a focus on Audio Visual systems.
We are looking for a highly dependable, conscientious, detail oriented, quick learner to join our small company involved in sales, installation and maintenance of Audio Visual systems, control systems, cabling and accessories.
This is a wage based position with full-time hours.
Job description:
- Perform installation and maintenance of low-voltage audio, video, control and network cabling and components (conduit, raceway, connectors, cable terminations).
- Perform installation, basic setup, troubleshooting and maintenance of Audio Visual electronic systems, related equipment and racks.
- Build cable assemblies and electronic assemblies in-house (small scale).
- Set-up equipment in shop, configure, stage and test systems.
- Perform troubleshooting and repairs.
- Assist with other shop duties as may be required.
- Note that this position requires travel away for up to 3 weeks at a time when working on install projects.
Required experience and proficiencies:
- At least 3 years working experience as a qualified Electronics Technician with experience in Audio Visual industry an asset.
- Strong communication skills in English language written and speech.
- Solid understanding of electrical and electronic concepts.
- Troubleshooting skills in electrical and electronic systems.
- Experience with Audio Visual systems, setup, programming and wiring.
- Working with low-voltage electrical wiring, installation and terminations.
- Use of general hand tools, power tools and soldering equipment.
- Use of electronic test equipment such as multi-meter, wire tracer, cable analyzer, etc.
- Working with small electronic components and parts.
- Ability and experience in working with wood and metal.
- Operation of a computer and use of MS Windows and MS Office.
- Work neatly and precisely with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Follow verbal and documented instructions, diagrams and schematics.
- Working under supervision, as part of a team and independently as required.
- Travel required within Alberta, BC and to a lesser degree other provinces.
- Must be able to work independantly.
Additional preferred skills, abilities and certifications:
- Experience in the Audio Visual industry or related systems is an asset.
- Programming of QSC, BSS Audio and Extron systems or similar Audio Visual systems.
- AVIXA CTS certification or related electronic industry certifications.
Required qualifications:
- College technician diploma in electronic engineering or equivalent.
- Must be legal to work in Canada.
The chosen candidate will receive additional on-the-job training and will be required to take company sponsored courses and training leading to industry certifications as may be required.
