Emergency Program Officer

What you'll be doing:
Responsible for the management and coordination of Emergency Programs including emergency preparedness, response, and recovery activities on behalf of the Village of Pemberton. This position is a critical member of the Village’s Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) team, acting as the liaison officer in the event of an emergency or disaster.
What you've got:

  • Knowledge of emergency management legislation, policies, standards and best practices
  • Emergency Operations Centre training
  • JIBC Emergency Management courses desirable
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and act with tact, diplomacy and discretion
  • High attention to detail; ability to proofread, interpret rules and regulations
  • Proactive, independent and a strong team player
  • Supervisory experience; comfortable coaching others and providing direction
  • Proactive and resourceful approach to relationship building
