The Stoney Creek, ON location is looking for an enthusiastic Engineering Co-op Student to assist with various project activities. The expected duration for this role will be from January 2023 until April 2023.
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Engineering Co-op Student will gain valuable experience in supporting, coordinating, and administering all field/site activities, such as: estimating, document control, procurement functions, and scheduling. There may also be some assistance required regarding QA/QC, and CAD drafting. Dependent on project needs, the Engineering Co-op Student may also assist with field related duties involving working directly on the job site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be a direct support to the Division Manager in all related areas
- Assist with the assembly of estimates, supplier solicitation, and material takeoffs
- Log, track, and control flow of all documents for all orders and projects
- Assist with requisitions, expediting, and receiving of material and equipment
- Assist in developing layout plans and WBS's based on SOW involved
- Help create, monitor, and update field schedules and help determine earned value metrics
- Help manage, organize, and assemble QA/QC paperwork necessary for final customer turnover packages
- Provide support in field related administrative function
KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Enrolled in a College or University Engineering Program
- Proficient in CAD design, by use of AutoCAD; operation of other CAD software will be an asset
- Experience in preparation of technical reports and/or engineering design reports
- Ability to apply engineering principles in real life situations
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
