Job description

The Opportunity

Responsible for delivering technical support to clients & Wajax Sales & Service Representatives and for providing hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and process fluid conveyance; designs, drawings, calculations, and solutions for them.

The Role

  • Create and design engineering drawings for projects (such Manufacturing & assembly drawing for all Engineering Systems, parts, or Sub-Assembly) using Inventor, Solidworks and AutoCAD
  • Follow all the Wajax policy for Code of Conduct; Code of Business Conduct; Violence & Harassment; Health and Safety; Travel, Entertainment and Expense; Alcohol & Drug; social media; Health and Wellness.
  • Develop drawings in the required software and format for the project.
  • Maintain and follow the Wajax ISO Engineering procedural flow chart, policies, document naming convention, for projects, drawings, and associated files with the appropriate Wajax software
  • Validate parts that will be used in each project, prior to assembly.
  • Review projects once assembled to ensure compliance with design.
  • Ensure project feasibility (cost study, period, risk, resources, profit, etc.)
  • Attend meetings, such as product training and group meetings as required.
  • Reverse Engineering parts or systems (take BOM & dimensions) to issue drawings
  • Conduct evaluations of equipment, inspecting and measuring parts to ensure adherence to manufacturer’s specifications and drawings.
  • Provide technical support concerning equipment manufactured, sold, and serviced by service operations, Inside and Outside Sales Rep to customers
  • Interpret drawings and written specifications to assemble, calibrate and configure equipment to customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot various hydraulic, pneumatic, process fluid conveyance and mechanical components or systems.
  • Supervise installation of, hydraulic, pneumatic, process fluid conveyance and mechanical components or systems at, Service centers or customer sites, as required.
  • Liaise with suppliers, vendors, customers, and employees to gather and share pertinent information.
  • Project manage, Coordinate, and oversee all work aspects concerning an Engineering project or sales order, including purchase order, stock requirements, subcontracting requirements, labor, and all other information
  • Provide technical documents, manuals, and training to sales staff and/or customers as required.
  • Participate in the inventory counting every year.
  • Preform Other duties as assigned.
  • Will at times require working overtime; some weekends; and out of town & Province.

The Candidate

Education: Technical Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or other related field; Mechanical Engineering Technologist Certificate; or equivalent experience.

Work Experience: 5-7 years

Knowledge: Solidworks, CAD, FEA & Microsoft Office , Some Electrical, PLC and programing knowledge would be an asset, knowledge on equipment related regulation; pump & valve installation, power transmission installation; strong electrical and/or controls knowledge; working knowledge of heavy duty tools, mobile, and industrial equipment.
