Requirements:
- Experience in Early Childhood Education and Care or other professions working with children who are 2 to 5 years old.
- Must be availible for three (3) days/week - Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays - 845am to 1245pm for a 10 week contract. An extension of 6 weeks is a possibility.
- Must hold a current/valid:
1) Vulernable Sector Check or be willing to acquire one.
2) First Aid and CPR-Level C certificate.
- Must have up to date immunization records or be willing to obtain them.
- RECE is preffered but not required.
- Individuals currently enrolled in a ECE Diploma program are encouraged to apply.
- Wage ranges from $19 to $21/hour based on experience.
- Familiarity with How Learning Happens and the Four Foundations of Early Childhood Education an asset.
- Familiarity with the Hannen Institute programs is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance to all children in classroom setting from 845am to 1245pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
- 10 week contract with a look to extend for a further 6 weeks.
- Interact and teach young children within a child-led play-based learning model.
- Help administer morning snack when needed.
- Report any observations of children to Supervisor.
- Assist children at lunchtime by helping open their lunch boxes, etc.
- Work within a small team to provide the highest quality teaching and care for the students.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 per week
