Cross Cut Directional Boring Ltd. is seeking experienced, qualified Equipment Operators for backhoe, skid steer, mini-excavator, plow, and tow cat operators. We are looking for career-oriented individuals for long-term employment who would like to grow with us. We are willing to train hard-working and self-motivated individuals. We specialize in the installation of underground utilities such as fiber, cable, gas, water, and power. Must have the ability to manage time effectively. Must be self-motivated and be a positive influence on your co-workers. The candidate must be able to solve problems and exercise good judgement. They should have a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn.

Duties and Functions, Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of trucks and equipment in a safe manner.
• Operate various heavy equipment such as backhoe, plow, tow cat
• Have safe working habits in compliance with OHS Standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
• Must be able to work out of town.
• Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather and work overtime as required.
• Complete pre-operational inspections on equipment/ preventative maintenance tasks
• Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
• Identify different soil types and handle them accordingly.
• We require a current 5-year drivers abstract

· Must be able to provide 3 years commercial insurance history or letter of experience if located out of province.

Additional Requirements:

Preferred candidate will have experience within the utility construction and maintenance industry. A valid Class 1 or Class 3 License is preferred.

Additional safety certificates preferred include Intermediate First Aid and Ground Disturbance Level 2.

Salary: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
