About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Vice President Zone Operations and working closely with the Executive Directors Health Services and Medicine (Zone Medical Lead), the Executive Director Community and Rural Health is responsible for the coordination, management, and leadership of clinical and program operations for all designated rural and primary health care facilities within the management zone.  This role will lead the development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of operational plans which allow the rural sites and primary health care team to deliver safe and high-quality care and is accountable to develop high performing teams as well as utilize resources in an efficient and sustainable manner.
The Executive Director is responsible for the coordination and oversight of service transformation, integration and issues management; communications and community relations, including liaison with the foundations and auxiliaries, facilitation, planning and operational leadership and health, access and flow, safety and wellness, fire safety and emergency planning/response.
The Executive Director also promotes and supports the clinical, research and academic mandates of Nova Scotia Health within their sites.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
-Post secondary education in health-related discipline, health administration, business administration or related field.
-Master’s degree in health or public administration field or related field preferred.
-Registration with relevant health or professional discipline/college or association.
-Certified Health Executive designation is an asset.
-5-7 years of relevant senior leadership experience with progressive accountabilities for financial, strategic and people management to deliver high quality services within a complex, integrated service model provided throughout several locations with multiple partners and stakeholders.
-Excellent leadership, relationship building, organizational and decision skills in support of patient, family and client centred services.
-Expert knowledge to critically analyze evidence-based practices to inform strategy development and organizational planning.
-Evidence-based collaborative problem solving of complex multifaceted issues.
-Understands the principles of project management and demonstrated ability to create and lead complex work teams.
-Strong presentation and public speaking skills that are responsive to audience needs.
-Demonstrated advanced communications skills/positive energetic public person.
-Cultural competence.
-Collaboration, negotiation, and persuasion skills are paramount as this role requires the engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
-Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators and benchmarks.
-Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours
-Permanent Full time, 75 Hours Bi-weekly 
Compensation and Incentives
$71.76 - $89.70 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. (Permanent Long Assignments Only).
