Family Violence Outreach Facilitator Full-Time
Located in the city of Yorkton, YTC Project Safe Haven is an initiative that provides safety, shelter, counseling, and referrals to victims of abuse. YTC Project Safe Haven is seeking one (1) individual to fill the position of Family Violence Outreach Facilitator for the Urban areas.
The individual will be responsible but not limited to the following duties:
- Facilitate Family Violence awareness information
- Facilitate and educate agencies about Family violence in the urban communities
- Supply skills and training to increase the number of people who can effectively respond to individual or family needs
- Maintain current records and confidential reports regarding clients
- Develop and use tools to gather information to determine which areas require immediate attention
- Supply information and collect data to prepare reports, develop models
- Facilitate discussions, conduct meetings, workshops, and seminars relating to Family Violence prevention
- Promote wellness and healthy lifestyles/relationships
- Motivate community involvement, develop groups, and circles in each First Nation, and their urban centers
- Assist in the creation of an Aboriginal network that supports the exchange of knowledge and contributes to increasing awareness and understanding of Family Violence
- Provide follow-up advocacy to the present, and past clientele of the Safe Haven, and assist in ongoing needs.
Qualifications:
- The Family Violence Outreach Facilitator for the Urban areas must have a Certificate or Diploma in the human services field specialized training in counseling or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in working in human services area and/or counselling supported by the Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture and language.
- Must possess the skills and abilities to team-build and network
- Must be able to empathize with clients on a non-judgmental basis
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must manage a number of people, priorities, and projects at one time, and may have to respond to emergency or crisis situations
- Should be available to work on short notice for emergency shifts
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Salary: To Commensurate with qualifications. Combination of education, relevant training and work experience will be considered.
