Position Overview

As the Outreach Worker – Dol Mar Manor, you will be responsible for supporting women and children in the LIHS transitional housing program who are seeking to move forward from the experience of relationship/family violence. In this role you will promote self-empowerment, wellbeing and goals through individualized support plans, services, and programming. In addition, you will also be responsible for maintaining the daily operations of Dol-Mar Manor. Your ability to build supportive connections along with your energetic, positive, and professional approach will enable you to multi-task and respond to diverse needs in this demanding and rewarding role. As well, your proven communication and interpersonal skills along with your strong ability to work as an effective team member will ensure your success at LIHS.

As an Outreach Worker, you will:

  • Develop and maintain an active residential and outreach caseload; process referrals, identify and update resources/referral sources.
  • Support increased safety, wellbeing, and empowerment through case management services, encourage women to identify their own strengths, needs and goals, create support plans/goals, connect to community resources, and advocacy.
  • Maintain a continuum of support through 1-1/ group sessions and informal engagement.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, factual, and professional documents in accordance with LIHS policies and procedures.
  • Contributes daily to maintain a high standard of health, cleanliness, and safety in all areas of the facility. Complies with all emergency processes and risk management.
  • Works collaboratively with referral partners to promote seamless services to clients and enhance partnerships with referral organizations
  • Facilitates weekly life skills programming and develops/implements client-wellness activities.
  • Maintains a strong communication linkage with other LIHS service areas, identifies opportunities for collaboration and client support

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

Full-Time, Permanent Position: 8-hour shifts.

Schedule: Daytime, evening, weekday, weekend shifts

Experience and Competencies:

  • Diploma or degree in a human service field is preferred, but a combination of related training and experience will be considered.
  • Extensive knowledge in interpersonal violence, trauma-sensitive practices, knowledge of strategies and support for wellbeing and empowerment is a must.
  • Ability to work within a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and an on-call rotation is required.
  • Effective documentation and efficient use of Office 365.
  • A valid driver's license combined with a 3-year clean driving history.
