We have an immediate opening for a Fibre Splicer . Our fibre splicers are involved in all aspects of the fibre splicing process, including cable preparation, termination, fusion-splicing, testing and troubleshooting
Duties and responsibilities:
Splice and test various types of Fibre Optic cable
Circuit building experience required
Troubleshooting issues and providing / facilitating solutions
Interpret system maps, splice doc’s and trace reports
Operation of different types of splicing and testing equipment
Document all required information in a neat and timely fashion
Ability to work in confined and elevated spaces
Familiarity with all associated hand / power tools as required
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years experience as a Fiber Optic Splicer
Must be able to setup / climb ladders to lower / raise splice enclosures at aerial locations
Must have the ability to follow common industry standards
Competency in OTDR and other testing protocol
Experience building various types of enclosures including FOSC, LCP, Nap, accumulation panels
Experience with Commercial Customer installations including but not limited to wall and rack mount applications
Clean Drivers Abstract
Valid Drivers License
Working Conditions:
ALL WEATHER WORK - ALL YEAR
Exposure to elements, construction working environment, vehicular / pedestrian traffic
Travel within Southwestern Ontario is a requirement
Rotating on call weeks
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: $30.00-$37.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
