Harvest Operations Corp. is a diverse energy company based out of Calgary offering exposure to conventional upstream oil and natural gas production and SAGD operations. Harvest has an immediate opening for a Contract Operator reporting to the Lead Operator. This is a full time contract position based out of Hay River Camp, shift 15 on / 13 off, flights based out Edmonton.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure field operations follow health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Perform day-to-day production related activities for area and properties, well testing to verify proration and meet regulatory requirements, optimize wells/facilities to increase production and/or reduce downtime. Coordinate day-to-day operation and upkeep of facilities, roads and pipelines by monitoring key indicators. Modify daily route based on downtime, production and risk factors.
- Ensure accurate and timely capture of field costs and participate in operating cost reduction initiatives.
- Identify field maintenance needs with the Lead Operator; assist in the development of preventative maintenance plans, procedures and schedules. Provide input on downhole repairs, work-overs and facility upgrades.
- Input key field data into production reporting system in line with operational requirements.
- Maintenance of rotational equipment.
- Inventory management of Chemical and other key winter supply based products to maintainefficiency during no access conditions during summer months.
Qualifications:
- Preferences to individuals with current 4th or 3rd Class Steam Ticket, industry accredited Gas Processing courses, Technical diploma or journeyman certificate in a related discipline
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
- Minimum of 3 years of operating experience with dehydration and refrigeration equipment, compression, high pressure produced water disposal systems, oil separation facilities, artificial lift systems including ESP’s and jet pumps.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Positive team player that can work in a remote area and lodge in camp.
- Safety conscious at all times.
- ATV , UTV and Sled experience a must, full time ATV access conditions range from April 01 – Dec 01 due to no Truck access during unfrozen conditions.
- Working knowledge of MS Office; knowledge of SCADA based control systems, Roughneck and PVR would be an asset.
- Required to maintain all safety and regulatory courses First Aid, H2S, WHMIS, TDG, Confined Space, Ground Disturbance and ATV training.
