About the BCLDB:

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis, and operates the retail brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

Finance is separated into five work groups (Finance Corporate, Finance Wholesale, Regulatory and Compliance, Finance Retail, and Shared Services) and provides financial services to all LDB departments. The Finance division provides financial reporting, advisory services, budgeting, capital asset reporting, and financial transactional processing (banking, accounting payable, accounts receivable). Finance is responsible for the LDB's enterprise risk management program and oversees regulatory compliance for BC liquor manufacturers/warehouses.

About this role:

The Manager Finance Sales is accountable for the integrity of all aspects of LDB retail transaction processing, including financial controls and period end processing. The position improves sales transaction processing and compliance processes; and participates in financial system design, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Manager supervises a team of finance sale data analysts and support clerks.

LDB's Finance department is a corporate resource providing professional financial advice, stewardship and services to the Wholesale, Retail and Corporate divisions. The Finance department's vision is: "Top performing businesses have top performing finance advisory functions".

The position is relied upon to apply expertise in financial management to ensure the integrity of Retail transaction controls and processes.

Position requirements:

Education and Experience:

• Degree in business administration, accounting or related discipline and one (1) year of *recent, related experience; OR
• Diploma in business administration, accounting or related discipline and two (2) years of *recent, related experience; OR
• Certificate in business administration, accounting or related discipline and three (3) years of *recent, related experience.

*Recent, Related Experience must have occurred in the last five (5) years and must include the following:

• Providing professional oversight to retail transaction processing, including financial controls, account reconciliations, reporting and period end processing.
• Supervising two (2) or more employees in administration roles.

*Preference may be given to those candidates with the following:

• Experience in the beverage alcohol industry/supply chain or wholesale/retail operations.
• Current Professional accounting certification (e.g., Certified Public Accountant (CPA)).
