Finance Summer Student

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Corporation of the City of Orillia has an opening for a Finance Summer Student in the Financial Services Division of the Corporate Services Department for a period of 14 weeks.

DUTIES

• Assist with general office administration related to the revenue, treasury and procurement activities of the Finance Division.
• Analysis, research, file and assist in Division projects as assigned.
• Assist in financial system data entry using MS office applications and Great Plains i.e. invoice entering, PO creation, etc.
• Provide superior customer service by responding to general inquiries by telephone, email or at the front counter if required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Enrolling in and/or returning to a post-secondary institution in the fall of 2023.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Works well independently and in a team setting.
• Ability to interact with the public in a professional manner.
• Familiar with MS Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.
• Knowledge of Great Plains Software would be beneficial.
• An acceptable Criminal Record Check is required for this position prior to the commencement date, at the incumbent’s expense.

Compensation for this position is $19.03 per hour for 35 hours per week, for a 14 week contract. Interested applicants are invited to apply by March 8, 2024 at noon.
