SalaryWe are seeking a Accounting/Finance Trainee to join our growing business, based in our Kitchener office, the candidate will work with the Finance team to nurture existing accounts , hunt for new clients, and assist in existing projects to help the company achieve its growth plans.

The individual will have the opportunity to work in alternative investment industry (hedge fund, private equity, venture capital) and connect with fund managers and principles. He/she will receive mixed education/work experience in investment accounting and maintain strong working knowledge of administrative functions, including:
- Ensuring that the operation of client fund is efficient
- NAV calculation and publication
- Maintaining accounts and records – reconciling capital stock, cash, and security holdings
- Preparing the audit file
- Compliance – AML/KYC, FACTA
- Information systems technology
- Responsibilities:
- Research, identify, and generate new opportunities via the phone, web and campaigns in partnership with the Accounting and Marketing team
- Qualify, build and manage a pipeline of new leads
- Utilize our CRM system to help organize and optimize sales efforts
- Strategically work with new prospects to identify business opportunities
- Learn and execute on the sales process with support from management
- Some cold-calling
About You:
- Positive and highly motivated
- Post-secondary degree in related field (i.e. Accounting & Finance)
- Excellent English written, verbal, and communication skills
- Past experience with marketing lead-generation
- Actively pursuing CFA/CPA designation is an asset
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 3-6 months
Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
Work Location: In person
