Salary: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
We are hiring a Financial Accounting Officer for our client in the Fraser valley area. Our client is looking for a detail-oriented individual with a CPA designation(Acquisition or near acquisition of CPA Designation) and a minimum of 2 years of experience in General Accounting.
Role & Responsibilities:

• Assists in department budget development and documentation.
• Completes bank, GL, and investment reconciliations.
• Files GST returns for public sector compliance.
• Prepares for annual audits, including detailed working papers.
• Collaborates with Finance Department to ensure GAAP compliance.
• Maintains accurate budget figures in accounting software.
• Reviews Accounts Payable Statements for payment processing.
• Posts inter-department charges promptly and accurately.
• Submits compliance reports to funding sources.
• Implements auditor recommendations for service improvement.
• Ensures security and confidentiality of financial data.
• Generates accurate financial statements and reports.
• Meets reporting requirements for federal and provincial programs.
• Provides meaningful financial reports to department managers.
• Assists in managing SFN property tax regime and identifies and recommends improvements in accounting processes.
• Utilizes accounting software and Excel functions for efficiency.
• Performs other accounting and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• CPA Designation is mandatory.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in General Accounting.
• Proficiency in financial processes including AP, AR, and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with Sage 300.
• Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality
• Knowledge of office procedures and document processing.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Zoom, Go-To Meetings, power Query, Power BI.
• Experience working with First Nations communities and/or organizations is beneficial.

Salary & Schedule:

• Job Type: Full-time-35 hours weekly
• Monday to Friday
• $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
