The Financial Analyst II delivers financial planning and analysis through financial modelling, scenario analysis, budgeting, forecasting and other analytics. This role collaborates with teams across operating divisions to consolidate and analyze results; and supports standardization and performance across the organization.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
What you'll do
- Creates financial models and analysis to support strategic business initiatives and projects. Assists in the development of long-range financial projections for forecast models.
- Assists in the development of the annual budget and liaises with operations to ensure costs are accurately budgeted for large scale contracts.
- Reports on capital expenditures and prepares forecasting on regular basis to ensure current financial information is built into consolidated forecasts.
- Maintains short and long-term financial models, annual budget models and rolling monthly forecast models, including presentation of assumptions and validation of inputs.
- Coordinates the consolidated long-term financial modelling, board reporting, annual budgeting, and monthly forecasting processes.
- Assists in the development of the cash flow forecasting process, standardized models, report formats and data definitions required for consolidated and divisional reporting.
- Assists in the development of Business Intelligence reporting to enhance operational and financial understanding.
- Performs cost analysis to settle areas of possible inefficiency and communicate those to operational management to resolve root cause and corrective action.
- Supports divisions and financial services teams in the development and reporting of operational and financial metrics.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline (Business and Finance preferred).
- Charted Professional Accountant (CPA) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a business/financial analysis role in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of analysis from a qualitative and quantitative perspective including discounted cash flow, net present value and internal rate of return calculations.
- Analytical and planning skills with ability to multi-tasking and prioritize tasks.
- Communications skills with ability to connect with others with tact and diplomacy.
- Attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Skilled at asking probing questions to deepen understanding of business issues.
- Advanced computer skills (MS Excel modelling and data analysis, PowerPoint, SAP BI/Power BI query reports and dashboards). Database management skills desirable.
