Financial Controller (Ifrs)

My name is Melissa, I am a finance, accounting and payroll recruitment consultant. I hold permanent and temporary positions in the Greater Montreal region.
My client is an IT developer located in Ville Saint-Laurent. They are looking for a Financial Controller. He will be responsible for an accounting team.

Your role :
- Participate in accounting operations (90%), ensuring accuracy and compliance with closing timelines and established processes.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards.
- Coordinate monthly analysis of accounts, aligning with reporting needs and providing information on budget variances.
- Support the Accounting Director in the preparation of the year-end file, coordinate audits with external auditors, and produce internal and external financial statements.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance and optimization of financial management policies, procedures and controls.
- Participate in budgetary processes and follow-ups, analyze budgetary gaps and propose improvements.
- Provide essential information to the Accounting Director for informed decision-making.
- Analyze current accounting activities, propose improvements, and advise the Director of Accounting on financial matters and risks.
- Participate in the verification of research and development (R&D) tax credit applications and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and other declarations.

Your profile :
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- The CPA designation is mandatory.
- Experience in a listed company is essential.
- Previous experience implementing new accounting software.
- Experience with Genius accounting software will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
