PROJECT OVERVIEW:
First Responders Radio Communications System (AFRRCS) requires a system that provides work order management to maintain and support the radio equipment infrastructure that includes asset management, records management, Agency Management (CRM), GIS capabilities and flexible, responsive reporting. A project manager is required to support the project once a vendor is selected.
AFRRCS's mission is to deliver effective and critical communications tools and infrastructure to emergency First Responders. AFRRCS operates 24/7/365 delivering public safety grade Radio Communications across the province. There are 338 sites with 182 agencies and over 44,000 radio subscriber units. The systems currently in use to manage the provincial network (physical assets inventory and location, work orders, site information, are ageing, costly and not sufficiently robust or interoperable. AFRRCS requires project management support transition activities.
DUTIES:
Project deliverables include requirements gathering, planning, coordination, analysis and project management of IMT initiatives supporting the Technology and Innovation IMT Project implementation. Defining and meeting all scope requirements, budgets and timelines. Ensure all defined business and technical requirements are met.
· Coordinate project activities and work with all stakeholders and vendors to ensure a highly coordinated and effective approach to planning and implementation of the Technology and Innovation IMT Project;
· Support other project teams and business areas within Technology and Innovation and stakeholders that are dependent on the Technology and Innovation IMT Project Implementation Initiatives;
· Plan and attend regularly occurring status meetings with team members to track progress, issues, and assignment of action items;
· Manage dependencies, key milestones, and risks for the Technology and Innovation IMT Project Implementation Initiatives;
· Create and deliver presentations using Microsoft products (e.g. PowerPoint) in support of the initiative as requested by the Director, Portfolio Development;
· Prepare briefing notes using Technology and Innovation Templates and Microsoft Word as required;
· Provide assistance and expertise in reviewing and negotiating service requests with the vendor to ensure business needs are met and that Technology and Innovation is receiving good value;
· Advise the Director, Portfolio Delivery on all Technology and Innovation IMT Project Implementation Initiatives matters as they relate to Technology and Innovation.
