Job Summary
Bring your exceptional customer service and analytical thinking skills to a work environment with diverse stakeholders
The Revenue Division (RD) is responsible for the administration and collection of the ministry's tax and natural resource revenue activities. With annual gross revenues in excess of $15 billion, the division's programs are the largest single source of provincial revenues required to support public services to meet the needs of the citizens of British Columbia. RD provides fair, efficient, professional and equitable administration of tax, revenue and benefit programs to ensure that government receives the revenue it is due through compliance with taxation, energy and forest revenue statutes. The division promotes voluntary compliance through quality customer service, education, and compliance programs.
Within the RD, the Consumer Taxation Programs Branch (CTPB) is responsible for the effective and efficient administration of all provincial consumer tax programs on behalf of the Ministry of Finance.
As an Information Officer, you provide authoritative tax application and interpretation services to vendors, taxpayers, their professional representatives (financial/legal), and the general public regarding taxation statues administered by the ministry. You will prepare detailed reports justifying approval or denial within the parameters of legislation and regulations governing the program.
If you thrive in an environment dedicated to cooperation and teamwork, and enjoy working towards group and organizational goals, we look forward to your application.
