Our mission is to deliver safe, cutting-edge and environmentally sustainable maintenance and construction services to railway track owners and operators across Canada. We design, build and maintain all levels of rail for various clients.
Job Description
Foreman will be responsible for leading a team in planning, organizing and managing one of our rail operations, ensuring track maintenance, track inspections, upkeep on MOW equipment is done in a safe, environmentally friendly, and efficient manner. This is a position that requires frequent travel to various locations. Experience in the railroad industry is preferred, but general construction/civil construction experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Foreman will report directly to the Assistant Director of Operations.
These positions require travel 100% of the time throughout Canada for extended periods of time. Railway work is VERY physically demanding and will require working in all types of weather conditions and climate.

Job Duties
Foreman duties will be, but not limited to:
· Supervises and works in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Operations to schedule activities of workers engaged in the installation and repair of railroad track, OTM pick up, welding support, labour support and all other related duties assigned
· Participates in daily communication with customers for scheduling and other issues to ensure a smooth operation.
· Possesses experience and knowledge with: MOW Equipment, Track Maintenance, Track Inspections, Reading and executing plans
· Provide quality service to customers on every shift every day
· Ability to build strong relationships with customer contacts
· Ability to understand the customer contracts.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks.
· Ability to produce and promote a safety culture that results in prevention of unsafe behaviors.
· Committed to teaching and promoting personal responsibility.
· Proactive leader that is able to solve problems, make decisions and direct people in a positive manner.

Job Requirements:
· 3 Years of experience as Foreman in Class 1 Rail Construction
· 5 Years of experience in Rail Construction
· Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check & Drug Test
· Valid Class 5 Drivers Licenses
· First Aid Certification is an Asset
· Valid CROR Certification is an Asset
· Ability to work across Canada and be away from home for most of the month
· Knowledge of Construction and Workplace Safety lifting and handling procedures
· Fluent in English with the ability to read, write and speak effectively
· Physically capable of repetitive bending, standing for long periods of time, lifting/carrying 50 lbs. unassisted, repetitive swinging motions and walking on uneven surfaces (approximately 3 miles per day).
· Ability to work in the elements across all weather conditions (summer heat, rain, dusty conditions, winter cold etc.)
· Willingness to work with hazardous materials such as creosote, lubricants, oil, gasoline and diesel fuel safely
· Ability to be exposed to continuous and regular loud noises
· Must be able to lift and carry at lease 50 pounds on occasional basis
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $28.00-$38.00 per hour
