Location: Salmon Arm, B.C. situated on beautiful Shuswap Lake in the Southern Interior of British Columbia. This is an ideal location for those who prefer a small town atmosphere, close to larger centres, with abundant recreational opportunities.
The responsibilities of the Forest Inventory Manager will be to lead in the application of innovative Resource Inventory methods for forest vegetation, terrain, base features and water resources. The Forest Inventory Manager will assist in developing, designing, budgeting and implementing Forest Resource Inventory projects. He/she will serve as a team specialist on multi-disciplinary projects along with other resource professionals and mapping specialists; train and lead inventory staff, and assist with corporate business development. The Forest Inventory Manager will work with clients to solve resource issues and assist clients in resource planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in forest metrics or allied science with 5+ years of Forest Resource Inventory experience, or
- Bachelors Degree or Diploma in forestry with 10+ years of Resource Inventory experience
- Registered Professional Forester or Forest Technologist (or near eligible for registration) in B.C.
- Experienced in the use of remote sensing technology for forest inventories
- Experience in project management and leadership
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Certification for Forest Vegetation Inventories in BC, AB or Ont.
