The winner of multiple industry awards for nine consecutive years, Toronto Arts Academy is looking for a Front Desk Administrator for our Music Academy with sales and/or Customer Service oriented personalities in a full-time (4 days a week) role to join our team. Toronto Arts Academy provides an exciting and supportive working environment where your professionalism, Customer Service, and eye for detail will be valued and appreciated.

You will assist with events, process administrative tasks, and sell our lessons to potential new students/parents of all ages. You will join a tight-knit team of 7 full-time Customer Service team members working alone and in pairs as you assist our 900 child and adult students between two locations with their weekly lesson schedules between 40 faculty members.

A typical day includes:

  • Assisting current students both over the phone, and in-person with their lesson needs
  • Fostering relationships with parents, students, and other staff to create a fun and welcoming environment
  • Providing warm and upbeat Customer Service for our current students
  • Communicating with teachers
  • Document and update records based on interactions
  • Develop and maintain a knowledge base of about how our lessons work
  • Managing student and teacher schedules, and upcoming events such as recitals.
  • Answering phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries
  • Getting excited about and Selling our lessons to potential new students
  • Registering new students and processing paperwork
  • Follow easy to follow administrative steps, systems and scripts
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues and concerns
  • Take pride in being a part of our award-winning brand
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Instrument playing is not required or preferred. We are instead looking for dynamic individuals excited to work in a growth-oriented company.

Compensation:

  • Starting wage is $21.00 per hour
  • Rotate between Downtown and Midtown Academy Locations

Job Requirements:

  • Candidates will work on location rotating between both Downtown and Midtown Locations
  • Availability is 4 days a week Mondays: 1:00-9:00pm, Tuesdays: 1:00-9:00pm, Fridays 12:00pm-8:00pm, Saturdays 9:30am-5:30pm.
  • While the above schedule will likely remain fairly fixed, flexible working hours may be occasionally be required as business needs change to accommodate all team members.

Ideal Skills & Experience:

  • A warm, articulate and enthusiastic phone demeanour. As we communicate with our students often by phone, we're looking for that GOLDEN VOICE, that sounds amazing on the phone with a great tone and excitement for our customers. If anyone has told you that your voice should be on the radio, we're looking for you!
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Enjoy working with kids, parents, and creative adults, and watching them grow!
  • An ability to sell themselves as well as our offerings. Selling our school on the phone to potential clients is one of the most important parts of this position.
  • Take initiative to solve problems by finding creative solutions
  • Your perspective and work ethic helps your team achieve their goals.
  • You love to brainstorm with your fellow staff members for new ideas
  • You can think on your feet and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Customer service and/or sales experience
  • Providing quality Customer Service via phone and in-person
  • Familiar with Google Drive, Word, Excel, Zoom
  • Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $21.00 per hour
