Core functions
- Accounts Payable – entering vendor invoices, issuing payments, vendor remittances, and job costing allocations.
- Filing - WSIB Premiums, GST/HS , Corporate Tax, employer health tax filing and remittances
- Bank and Credit Card reconciliations, monthly accruals, financial reporting, job profitability analysis
- Maintain general ledgers and financial statements.
- Reconcile accounts.
- Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
- Communicate professionally in all verbal and written communication.
- Perform other related activities, as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications/ Job Experience and Education:
- Post-secondary education in business/accounting field considered an asset
- QuickBooks desktop/online Accounting software experience
- 5+ years in an accounting position, preferably in construction environment.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of accounting systems and various computer programs.
- Ability to work independently, with minimum supervision and to self-manage work time and priorities.
- Able to prioritize tasks and be flexible when urgent matters arise.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Resourceful with a proven ability to complete tasks timely.
- Good work ethic with a positive attitude and desire to work as a team.
- Clean Criminal history / back check
