Requires a
Full-Time Cook at the Goderich Child Care Centre
The Full-Time Cook is responsible to provide nutritious lunches and snacks for children at the Municipal Child Care Centre. Under the Child Care Centre Director, the successful applicant will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Preparation of a menu according to municipal, provincial and federal requirements
- On behalf of the Centre purchase supplies sufficient for preparing healthy and nutritious lunches and snacks for children, lifting and unloading of food orders
- Preparation of menu items for children with allergies or dietary limitations
- Preparing kitchen area, maintaining in an organized and sanitary condition pursuant to health standards, as well as the cleanup of eating and kitchen areas following daily use
- Other duties assigned by Director and/or Supervisor
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Public Health Act and ability to meet the specifications of these regulations and any others that apply to this work
- Ability to multi-task in a busy/high paced work environment and will be exposed to environmental noise
- Safe Food Handling Certification considered an asset
- Valid Class G Ontario driver’s license
- Valid First Aid/CPR-C AED certificates
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is a requirement for this position
The hourly rate of pay is $20.87-27.62 and will be required to work Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, 35 hours per week.
