Qualifications
- Previous kitchen experience
- Food Handler Certification
- Clear Criminal Reference Check/vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid CPR and Standard First Aid Level
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans, prepares and provides well balanced and nutritious meals and snacks which meet the needs of the children in an organized and hygienic setting within the food budget guidelines following requirements as set out by Health Canada, Canada’s Food Guide, the Child Care and Early Years Act and Halton Health.
- Prepare alternative meals and snack for children with special dietary requirements.
- Clean up of all food preparation dishes/pots, children’s dishes and utensils.
- Order or purchase all groceries and household supplies within the budget guidelines.
- Conduct housekeeping tasks necessary to maintain kitchen in an organized, clean, safe and hygienic condition at all times as outlined on kitchen cleaning chart.
