Pension Plan -
All full-time employees have the opportunity to participate in a group pension plan after two consecutive years of employment, employees contribute 5% of their gross earnings per pay which is matched by the Y. After three consecutive years of full-time service, participation in the YMCA pension plan is mandatory.

What you will do…

As an Intake Worker, you will be answering telephones, appropriately directing calls and recording messages for office employees and clients, as well as greeting visitors and directing them appropriately, and responding to general inquiries. You will book and cancel appointments in HARTs (language database) as well as screen clients and make appropriate referrals to programs and assessments. You will work with office equipment to photocopy immigration documents for eligibility purposes and respond to all language-related phone inquiries. You will also support our staff with making appointments through online scheduling tools that are used by the teams. As always, there might be other duties as assigned including when needed supporting our Stratford Perth County and Kitchener sites.

This role will be in charge of accurate records keeping and data entry. This important work will help us highlight the value that immigration brings to Waterloo Region.

What you will bring….

Ideally, you will have at least a high school diploma or college diploma (post-secondary preferred) and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of the HARTs database, benchmarks and LINC levels are an asset. Knowledge of immigration categories and eligibility for language training would also be welcome. In this role, you will work directly with client information so previous experience working with confidential data and client information is strongly preferred. We are a very diverse and multicultural office, so a second language or two would be an asset. We also require Police Vulnerable Sector Records check. For you to succeed in this role, you will have at least 1 year of previous experience.
