General Labourer

Maecon Infrastructure is a leading construction firm specializing in concrete restoration of bridges, commercial and industrial infrastructure. We are seeking hard-working and motivated individuals for the role of a General Labourerto join our team and help us with projects throughout Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Site Foreman and Site Lead Hand, this position is responsible for performing a large variety of construction related tasks involving strenuous manual labour in a safe and appropriate manner consistent with company values, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

• Must be reliable, punctual and possess a positive attitude.
• Able to work as a team and communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers, ensuring all tasks are being completed in a safe and timely manner.
• Comfortable working variable hours at various locations all throughout Nova Scotia.
• Reliable transportation to and from the jobsites/pickup points.
• Previous experience as a labourer working with concrete, waterproofing, cementitious coatings will be considered an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participate and contribute to safety meetings.
• Follow instructions from supervisors.
• Assist Lead Hands and other skilled laborers when necessary.
• Use of air operated tools such as jack hammers, chippers, basic hand tools, etc.
• Keep construction sites free of obstacles and hazards.
• Load or unload construction materials.
• Physical labour
• Site clean up.
