Duties
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts
- Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools
- Read blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD)
- Operate, and maintain lathes, mills, CNC machines.
- Measure, examine, and test completed tooling to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ontario College of Trades certification as a General Machinist or similar certification preferred
-Candidates working through their apprenticeship towards a General Machinist or similar certification will also be considered
- Candidates who are interested in pursuing an apprenticeship towards a General Machinist or similar certification will also be considered
- Proficient in machining operations such as milling, drilling, turning, and grinding
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- Basic math skills for performing calculations and measurements accurately
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $21.87-$27.81 per hour
