Key Responsibilities:
- Develop sequences, tooling arrangement and settings, speeds, and feeds in accordance with materials to be machined, type of machine and capacities
- Plan machining tasks by studying work orders
- Observe machine prove-out to check the accuracy of the program
- Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance
- Ability to read engineering drawings, processes, procedures, and follow written instructions
- Ability to think rationally and logically to overcome any arising problems
- Assist with machine testing with respect to application usage of the machine
- Capable of building complex tooling and fixtures as necessary to support machining requirements
- Determine fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications, and mount them to the machine prior to beginning cutting
- Oversee cutting process, adjust throughout each job, catch mistakes as they happen, and take necessary measures to eliminate errors
- Review and interpret cutting plan
- Understand and meet/exceed production and quality standards
- Work alongside the other machinists to maintain the machine tools and equipment in a peak condition
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations to avoid accidents/injuries
- Learning and applying the latest relevant knowledge to the work
- Be punctual and professional at the workplace
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience setting up and operating machines
- Critical -thinking and decision-making skills
- Expertise in math and computer applications
- Knowledge of technical machinery
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Knowledge in the safe use of hand and shop tools, forklift operations, personal safety equipment, etc.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
