General Manager

Drayton Valley Golf Club is now accepting applications for a General Manger. This is a permanent, year-round, full-time position that requires working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Applications will be accepted until January 31st, 2024.

Considered one of the premier Golf Clubs in Brazeau Country, Drayton Valley Golf Club is an 18-hole championship public facility that is located just north of Drayton Valley and 75 minutes southwest of Edmonton. The Club's facilities include 18 holes of golf, practice area, driving range, and fully licensed clubhouse. Responsibilities:

· Working with the Course Superintendent on the development and preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all golf operations revenues and expenses

· The hiring, training, development, scheduling and supervising of all Pro Shop staff, Back Shop staff, and Beer Cart staff

· Enforce all club policies and regulations

· Daily pro shop duties including utilizing tee sheet operation, pro shop aesthetics, sales of goods, and opening/closing POS operation

· Organize operations of leagues, clinics, and other programs

· Oversee management of club tournaments and group play operations in conjunction with our Course Superintendent and Caterer

· Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community

· Responsible for the financial and operational performance of the golf shop operations and golf services

Required Knowledge and Skills:

· Minimum 3 years' experience in management position

· Extensive previous experience in customer service industry

· Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations, and tournament operations

· Experienced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Publisher, and Excel. Proficient in other applications, e.g., email, internet, tournament, database & POS. Experience with LightSpeed Software would be considered an asset

· Ability to lift 50 lbs

· Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license

Compensation:

· Salary ranges from $70,000 to $100,000 per year

· Performance based bonuses

· Professional development is also strongly encouraged

· Dec 15 to February 15 (Only required to be available to respond to emails/phone calls)
